The Challenge
How can we better manage our asset maintenance?
Managing asset maintenance and sustainment at scale requires precise coordination across systems, suppliers, and operators. Lockheed Martin faced the complex task of ensuring real-time visibility into maintenance data while maintaining full compliance and security across multiple international programs. Traditional tools can often offer limited flexibility for maintainers and are often difficult to adapt to the rapidly changing needs of operational environments.
To address these challenges, Lockheed Martin needed a solution that could integrate seamlessly with existing ERP and logistics systems, operate effectively both on-base and in the field, and deliver reliable insights for decision-makers at every level. The goal was to create a secure, scalable, and user-friendly platform that could unify maintenance workflows and support global sustainment operations.

The Solution
Asset Maintenance Management System (AMMS)
Empact partnered closely with Lockheed Martin to deliver the Asset Maintenance Management System (AMMS): a defense-grade platform designed to manage the full maintenance lifecycle. The solution was customized to synchronize maintenance processes with Lockheed Martin’s existing systems, ensuring that data flowed seamlessly between engineering, logistics, and operations.
AMMS provided maintainers and planners with an intuitive interface, enabling them to manage tasks, parts, and defect reports efficiently, even in offline environments. The system also introduced advanced reporting and analytics capabilities, giving leadership a comprehensive view of readiness, configuration, and resource utilization. Through this collaboration, Empact helped Lockheed Martin modernize legacy processes with a unified, digital sustainment environment. This helps reducing administrative burden, improving data consistency, and enabling faster, more informed decisions across all maintenance operations.
Empact helped Lockheed Martin with
A seamless platform to perform work within all maintenance management areas, from completing tasks, to ordering spare parts for a helicopter.
A scalable web-based solution developed in Angular and Microsoft .NET with a range of deployment options suited for every end-user type.
The Outcome
Enhanced operation-readiness with AMMS
Implementing AMMS has transformed Lockheed Martin’s maintenance operations, delivering significant improvements across efficiency, visibility, and readiness. The platform streamlined workflows, reducing manual overhead and simplifying data exchange between teams. With real-time insight into asset health and configuration, decision-makers gained a clearer operational picture, enabling faster action and better resource allocation. Today, AMMS plays a key role in enhancing fleet readiness, minimizing downtime, and strengthening sustainment strategies. The solutions supports mission success on a global scale.
